how to make poisonbooks by barbarasobczynska how to make poisonbooks by barbarasobczynska
just a part of a little late birthday gift for the lovely Gosia :iconfossil-cloud: my dear (and greatly talented as well as incredibly funny and witty) friend, because she's is fascinated with poison books, so I thought I would make her a kind of an instructional picture about how to make poison books;)
I may move it to scraps, because i'm not really pleased with how it turned out to look like:paranoid:I mean especially in that photo of the original

*Basia-AlmostTheBrave has a very characteristic style: somehow mixing solemnity with humor, a bit of darkness and sunlit innocence. how to make poisonbooks is one of those oddly balanced, endearing works that effectively transports the viewer to her own fantastic world. ( Featured by stigmatattoo )

This is really lovely. I come more times in a day to look at it. I am not sure what it is, which attrackts me to it. Maybe the colors, which remind me of old talebooks I read as little kid, or the stylisation of the objects. I remember that as kid one sees things really in a special way and the form of lines, shapes and such can work on the viewer very strongly.

And as once I loved to watch in one talebook devils cooking themselfs in boiling pot, I love to watch the poisonbook "factory".

Thank you so much for showing us. I am loving it.
And after reviewing you gallery I will watch you also. :-) I am sure it will be very interesting.

Ah, I know what it was! The colors are mild and not shouting, old books used to be like that. :-) There I feel better discovering the reason... :D

I wonder.....are poisonbooks simply books that are, in some way, toxic? And if so....who defines their toxicity?
I like this idea....I'm reminded of american school textbooks.
